South African Bulk Cargo Seeks Ships - Contract of Affreightment 2007

Mbi as, Norway acquired 40% in the first bee shipping company in South Africa. Bee is the black economic empowerment strategy that the present government implemented after the fall of aparteid regime in 1994. The sa government encourages to develop a national shipping industry under the bee maritime industry charter which will give the sa new shipping company access to large volumes of sa import and export bulk cargoes which requires sea transport. Mbi will be responsible for operation of the new sa shipping company. Mbi will enter the market with contracts of affreighment for oil, coal and ore products. Ship owners or ship operators who are interested will be given full presentation of cargo volumes available for short, medium and long term.
