E Cycle Conversion Kit

An external rotor type BLDC Hub motor can be retrofitted to the back wheel of any bicycle without disturbing the pedalling mechanism and the free wheel. An optimized motor with a micro controller based controls give best riding performance for the user at a very affordable cost. The battery is a Li Iron polymer type best suited for automotive application. The light weight battery comes with an intelligent charger for charging the battery in about 60 - 75 minutes. The battery can be dismantled from the cycle and taken home for charging. The battery has a long life of about 5 years to drastically reduce the overall ownership cost and is also environmentally friendly. In one charge the vehicle will go about 30 KM. The maximum speed of the vehicle is restricted by controls to around 20 - 25 KMPH due to reasons of safety.

As per ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) standards the converted E Cycle does not need any vehicle registration with transport authorities nor does the driver need a driving license.

The vehicle is thus ideally suited for School going children, local green transportation in large campuses of plants, universities, etc. It is also ideally suited for people commuting to work from suburban and rural areas to nearby towns. Delivery & courier persons and postmen can also use this vehicle very effectively.

The running cost of the vehicle is very low. For an usage of about 25 KM per day for about 300 days an year, the electrical energy for charging the batteries will be hardy 80 - 90 kWHr.

The retrofittment can be done by any cycle mechanic in a short time. New or old cycles can be retrofitted by the mechanic.
